Wonderfully sweet and tart, passion fruit is native to Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. More than 500 cultivars of passion fruit exist, but only two, purple and yellow, are widely cultivated throughout the world such as in Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia and Australia.
